Three Kirkwood softball players have been named to All-American teams for their efforts on the field during the 2009 season.
Kylee Knop, a freshman pitcher from Oxford, Georgia was recognized by the NJCAA and NFCA for her contributions. Both organizations named Kylle to the 2nd Team roster. In the circle, Kylee finished the year with a 22-5 record overall and a 12-2 record in the conference. During the season Kylee recorded 138 K's in 170 innings and had a 1.27 ERA. Both statistics ranked in the top ten nationally.
Carlie Schnoebelen, a freshman outfielder form New Hampton, IA was recognized by the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association), and earned 1st Team All American recognition for her outstanding play. On the year Carlie had a great season at the plate. Her batting average was .401, she hit 10 home runs, stole 35 bases, hit 3 triples, drove in a team high 46 runs, scored 65 runs, and had 71 hits. In the field Carlie threw out 7 people trying to advance on her.
Chelsea Parrish, a freshamn DH from Lawrenceville, Georgia was recognized by the NFCA for her efforts this season at the plate. Chelsea was named to the NFCA 2nd Team as a Designated Hitter. During the season, batting in the 4th spot, Chelsea batted .440, hit 4 home runs, drove in 40 runs, scored 30 times,walked a team high 20 times, and collected 59 hits. Chelsea also saw some time at 3rd base and 1st base.
