Cheerleading at Kirkwood
The Kirkwood Cheerleading Squad is a volunteer team organized through the Student Life Department. Kirkwood has had cheerleading in the past but has had a break from the program in the past few years. With a lot of interest from current students, the cheerleading program is now back in full swing.

Try Outs
Open tryouts were held and team selection took place. The team performs at Kirkwood home mens and womens basketball games. We will have tryouts for basketball cheerleading just after the school year starts in Fall 2010. If you are committed to cheerleading, teamwork, school spirit and having lots of fun, then you should consider trying out!
Open try outs were held in the Iowa Hall ABCD rooms (3rd Floor) on Monday and Tuesday, September 28th and 29th, 2009. Check-in began and try outs started at 4:00p.m. Anyone was welcome to attend regardless of cheer background and experience. A short cheer was taught and performed individually or in groups of two. Unfortunately, this year no males tried out but we are hopeful for more interest next year!
