Renee Schleuter

Renee Schlueter

St. Louis native Renee Schlueter joined the English Department faculty in 1997 as a literature and writing instructor. After completing her B. A. in English at Northeast Missouri State University, Schlueter accepted a teaching fellowship at Saint Louis University where she taught courses in literature and writing while earning her M. A. and her Ph.D. in English. Her dissertation is entitled "The Feme Sole and Her Property: Renegotiating the Marriage Contract in fin de siecle British Culture and Fiction."

While at Saint Louis University, Schlueter received a dissertation fellowship and the Fournier Teaching Excellence award. She has taught courses in British Literature, Women's Studies, Business Writing, composition, and literature.

Activities: Running, hiking, reading, and cooking. She also enjoys walks with Argos, her smooth coated fox terrier.
