Kishwaukee moves back to the top spot in NJCAA Division II Volleyball Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Kishawaukee College (Malta, IL) returns to the top of the NJCAA Division III Volleyball poll after spending last week in second. Illinois Central College (East Peoria, IL) drops back to second, while Cowley County Community College (Arkansas City, Kan.) rises to third.

Kishawaukee moves back up after a win over previous top team Illinois Central (3-0). The Kougars also enjoyed wins over Black Hawk (3-0), South Suburban (3-0), Hagerstown (3-0), Columbus State (3-0), Macomb (3-0), and Kalamazoo Valley (3-0). Ashley Beyer ranks second in the nation again this week with 4.72 kills per game and third in the nation with 1.02 aces per game.

Illinois Central returns to second after the loss to Kishawaukee as well as Div. I No. 2 Iowa Western (3-0) and Div. I Indian Hills (3-2). The Cougars posted wins over Kalamazoo (3-0), No. 14 Owens (2-1), Lakeland (3-1) to improve to 19-7 overall. Freshman Yiting Cao leads with 3.31 kills per game and .78 aces per game.

After spending the past two weeks in fourth, Cowley breaks into the top three this week after a 3-2 victory over previous No. 3 Johnson County. With a record of 22-5, the Tigers posted wins against Coffeyville (3-0) and Pratt (3-0), losing only to Div. I Hutchinson (3-1). Sarah Eldridge ranks 12th in the nation with 9.51 assists per game and Lucis Cizmorava ranks 19th with 3.38 kills per game.
