Kirkwood High School Distance Learning (HSDL) offers high school transfer credit courses. We have course offerings in online and other interactive formats. Students can start a course at any point in the year and have four months from the date of registration to complete it. We offer flexible and convenient options to earn high school credits. Work with us to:

  • make up credits you need to graduate
  • take courses that aren’t offered at your school
  • take courses that don’t fit into your schedule.
  • collaborate with other schools to offer courses through the ICN (Iowa Communications Network)

Kirkwood HSDL consists of five options:

Each online course is instructor-facilitated by a licensed Iowa teacher. Students will be assigned a teacher certified in that subject area. This teacher is available on a regular basis via email to assist the student as they work through the course material.

The cost of a Kirkwood HSDL course is $150 per semester for in-state students, $200 for out-of state students. Textbooks are required for correspondence and select online courses and require a $60 book deposit.

Students taking HSDL courses will have four months from the date of enrollment to complete their course. Physics students get seven months to complete the course. The student and test proctor will receive an introductory email containing startup information after the registration form has been received.
