PHR-171 Pharmacy Technician (6.50)

Provides the knowledge and skills necessary for employment as a pharmacy technician in a retail, hospital or clinic pharmacy while under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Includes basic understanding of medications, prescriptions and terminology, pharmaceutical calculations and techniques, record keeping, ethics and jurisprudence, as well as the role of the pharmacy technician. Emphasizes the importance of making informed, intelligent decisions. Offers experience alongside a pharmacist to provide medication and other types of health care products to patients.
