Explores the application of the sociological perspective to local, national and global environmental issues, with a particular focus on sustainability. Studies theories and methodologies that guide environmental research and ethical issues. Examines the way complex social structures and processes define, create and interact with the natural environment. Includes research on land use, population, waste disposal, public health, environmental justice, the environmental movement and public policy.
