ITP-130 Social Aspects of Deaf Culture (3)

Introduces aspects of diversity within the deaf community in America, Canada and internationally. Students become familiar with social structure, the history of deafness and the history of the American deaf community, including the evolution of education of the deaf. Students become familiar with legislation that impacts the deaf in America. Discusses definition of deafness and impact on culture.
