ITP-120 Introduction to Interpreting (3)

Provides a history of interpreting as well as an overview of interpreting as a profession. Topics include the interpreting environment, professional ethics and certification, interpreting in educational and community settings, and the physical, psychological and health aspects of interpreting. The influence of the cultural context on the success of the interpreting process is explored. Students are introduced to pantomime and its use in language expression in a visual mode.
