GIS-110 Survey of Geographic Information Systems (3)
Introduces the applications of geospatial technologies, including Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Explores global reference and coordinate systems, maps and generalization, as well as types of maps. Studies the basic components and operation of GPS and GIS to develop an awareness of how they are used for data collection, analysis and decision-making in business, government and industry.
