Animals Available for Adoption

The Veterinary Technician program has one female rabbit and two male rats available for adoption.

The rabbit, Duchess, is spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $30. She has been socialized and handled by multiple students throughout the semester.

The two male rats’ adoption fee is $10. Rats should live in a home with at least one other rat; we’d prefer that they are adopted together.

Duchess the rabbit is available for adoptionDuchess is a sweet girl looking for a good home! Duchess is around 10 months old. She enjoys exploring, playing with toys, and taking naps. She loves food, especially vegetables and treats. Duchess prefers to drink water from a bowl rather than a water bottle. She is trained to use a litter box. She is a medium sized rabbit who is full of life and would make a fun addition to your home.

Two rats available for adoptionRatt Damon (grey & white) and Ratrick Swayze (white) are around 12 weeks old. These two young male rats are searching for a home together. They are sweet and curious. They have been handled by students since they were just a few weeks old so they are used to being around people!

All three animals will be ready to go to their homes at the end of April. If you are interested in adopting either Duchess or Ratt Damon and Ratrick Swayze, please contact mara.henningsen@kirkwood.edu or erin.dahlstrom@kirkwood.edu.
